Frylands Park, scout site in Slough, was the venue for cub camp ‘I’m a cub get me out of here’, this was a fun 5 days, where the cubs learned traditional scouting skills alongside having to survive the trials of the jungle!

This camp was Bagheera’s first camp and enabled her to gain her nights away permit.

The cub pack enjoyed a visit to Canvey Bus Museum.  They were given a guided tour and had the chance to board a number of vintage buses, although most of the leaders remembered actually riding on them, not that long ago.

One of the trips the cubs did during the summer holidays was a trip to London.  While out in the capital they enjoyed a visit to Ripley’s Believe it or Not, as well as a trip to M & M world, finished with a meal at a top resturant.

For the third year running 5th Canvey Cubs entered Canvey Carnival and again were lucky enough to win 1st place in ‘Best Decorated Float’.  The theme this year was Charlie and the chocolate factory, with all the characters in place the cubs all dressed as umpa lumpa’s!
